PROVENANCE, EXHIBITIONS AND LITERATURE ARE THE BACKBONE OF HIGH PRICES

ZENETZIS PAINTING ON THE ACROPOLIS ON SUNDAY 22nd AUGUST 2004

IMPRESSIONIST ART AT ITS BEST!!

YOU WATCH ART PROGRAMMES, ANTIQUE PROGRAMMES, AUCTIONS ETC. THE EXPERTS ASK FOR A LOT OF INFO FOR THE OWNERS TO SHARE BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION IS:

HOW DID YOU GET THIS PIECE, HOW COME AND YOU OWN IT?

I have been an art dealer for 40 long years. I have learned the trade by trading, I have made mistakes by trading and I have a collection of some value while trading, buying at auctions and most seriously at studios of artists. Most of the collection of #greeksinart=#greeksinartgallery comes from commissions to artists over the last thirty-five years.

Following the acquisition of all these works of art came the exhibiton of them, the sale of many of them and the retaining of some of them for the collection which is still with me today.

In addition to the exhibitions and in the case of Vasilis Zenetzis, greeksinart have published a Monograph on the artist ” IMPRESSIONS OF HELLAS”, where some two hundred paintings are discussed and illustrated in a lavish publication.

The art market demands and rightly so certain facts off a work of art.

Provenance, Exhibitions and Literature!

Leon Kalogeropoulos ( 1928-2002) THE LAST MARINE ARTIST OF GREECE

All three fundamental requirements are met by the work of Zenetzis and partly by the works of Leon Kalogeropoulos who painted for me for only two years. Most of the other works of modern Greek artists were also bought at studios and directly from the artists.
