PERICLES FELL TO PLAGUE ONCE HE HAD THE PARTHENON BUILT IN ATHENS

Painting the Parthenon by Vasilis Zenetzis

Thucydides was a great historian, contemporary of Pericles and a survivor of the PLAGUE that hit Athens in 430 BC.

The Parthenon remains one of the wonders of the world today and after 2500 years. We are in the middle of a pandemic with the future uncertain for our world. Athens survived the plague with a great loss of life after Pericles built the Parthenon in 450-440 BC. We will do the same today!
