IN THE RECENT SALE OF GREEK ART ON THURSDAY SOME SIGNIFICANT PRICES WERE ACHIEVED.

CHRISTOFOROS SAVVA TOOK THE HONOURS AMONG THE MODERN ARTISTS SELLING AT 26,000 EUROS WITH AN ABSTRACT PAINTING FOLLOWED BY KANTHOS AT 10,000, LEFTERIS ECONOMOU AT 7,000 EUROS AND LOIZIDES AT 7.000. THE ONLY MAINTLAND GREEK ARTIST SALE OF MENTION WAS GAITIS AT 5,000.

NAIVE ART IS THE ART MANY LOVE AND IT SEEMS TO BE SO IN CYPRUS TOO. MICHAEL KASHALOS SURPASSED THE MODERN ARTISTS AND SOLD FOR 33,000 EUROS THUS RE-AFFIRMING HIS POPULARITY AND HIS STANDING IN THE ART OF GREEK CYPRIOT ARTISTS.
