LYSICRATES MONUMENT ON THE FEET OF THE ACROPOLIS, ATHENS

Read Time:24 Second

SURROUNDING THE ACROPOLIS ARE A MYRIAD OF  ANCIENT TREASURES

ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE ACROPOLIS STANDS A MONUMENT FOR ARTS, MUSIC AND LETTERS. THE MONUMENT OF LYSICRATES WAS BUILT TO HONOUR MUSIC AND ARTS BACK IN THE LATE  4TH CENTURY BC. TODAY IT STANDS PROUDLY AMONG CLASSICAL OLD ATHENS BUILDINGS IN PLAKA, REMINDING US ALL THAT ARTS AND LETTERS NEVER DIE.

PLAKA WITH LYSICRATES MONUMENT AND THE ACROPOLIS IN THE DISTANCE, PAINTED BY VASILIS ZENETZIS IN 1991
