GREEK ART MAKES A THUNDEROUS COMEBACK IN PARIS

TSINGOS WORK SOLD FOR 26,000 EUROS

We had our doubts about whether the move to Paris would be a success but when a sale has a 76% sales rate ( 100 lots sold out of 130) and many great prices, one has to start being very optimistic about the future of Greek art. The sale in Paris was strong through the whole sale with stars being:

Ralli at 375.000 euros
Moralis 250,000 euros
Engonopoulos 175,000 euros
Gysis 102,000 euros

The next group of artists were headed by

Ghika selling at 87,000 euros
Volanakis 56,000 euros
Tsingos at 26,000 euros
Spyropoulos 16,000 euros

Also in the sale the Leon Kalogeropoulos painting sold for 5200 euros, making us very optimistic about the work of the artist we keep in stock, one of which we illustrate here above.

As we reiterated in our article on the sale of Bonhams yesterday, we are grateful the company continued the Greek sales during the difficult years of 2010-2020. Well done Bonhams!!!
