REVIEWING BRITISH ART MARKET OF 2021

Read Time:1 Minute, 12 Second

WHAT DID THE BIG BRITISH NAMES DO IN THE YEAR 2021?

BACON’S PORTRAIT OF HOCKNEY!!!

BACON LEADS THE FIELD BUT THE YEAR OVERALLL IS DOWN ON THE YEARS 2020, 2019.

                             2019                2020                      2021

BACON               34,000,000    60,000,000             21,000,000

MOORE           861,000               XXX                        1,563,000

LOWREY         4,500,000         1,200,000                   2,100,000

HOCKNEY              XXX                     XXX                          5,000,000

RILEY              2,350,000                   XXX                           2,700,000

THE YEAR 2021 DID NOT ATCH EARLIER YEARS FOR THE TOP ARTISTS OF BRITAIN BUT IT NOT NOT COLLAPSE EITHER. THERE IS HOPE THAT THE MONEY WILL RETURN, CONFIDENCE WILL BE MORE ROBUST AND THE BILLIONS AUCTIONS CONTRIBUTE TO THE ECONOMY WILL BE BACK.

OF COURSE CONFIDENCE IN THE MARKET IS PIVOTAL AND THE MAGNET TO ATTRACT MAJOR PIECES OF ART ON THE MARKET AND DELIVER THE RESULTS ALL ART INVESTOR HOPE FOR. WE REMAIN POSITIVE ON MOST ART MARKETS AND SO IS THE BRITISH ONE FROM ENGLAND TO SCOTLAND AND WALES.

THE MOST IMPORTANT NAMES WON’T GIVE UP MUCH GROUND FOR YEARS TO COME BUT AS OUR SHORT COMPARATIVE TABLE POINTS OUT 2021 WAS A YEAR THAT POINTS NORTH RATHER THAN SOUTH! IN OUR OWN DEALINGS AND SALES WE HAD A FEW GOOD RESULTS FOR MIONOR ARTISTS WE HAD NO CHANCE OF SELLING A FEW YEARS BACK. THUS WE NEARLY SOLD ALL THE STOCK WE HAD IN ENGLISH ARTISTS PLUS A FEW OF GREEK INTEREST.
