COLLECTING 925,000 POUNDS FOR ONE SALE SEEMS POOR FOR SOTHEBYS

WITH ONLY 46 LOTS IN THE SALE, THE TOTAL IS NOT BAD AT ALL. OF NOTABLE SALES WE CAN PICK OUT THE MACKINTOSH SALE OF 100,000 ON AN ESTIMATE OF 20- 30,000 AND THE CADELL SALE OF 125,OOO FOR A STILL LIFE OF ROSES IN A VASE.

THE ONE WE LIKED THE MOST AND DID WELL WAS THE JAMES HERALD SALE OF A MARKET SCENE WHICH SOLD FOR 10,000 POUNDS ON AN ESTIMATE OF 5-7000.
