It has been a few year now that BANSKY appeared not only on wall murals any more but in prestigious auctions and selling for millions for unique paintings and hundreds into thousands for his multiples.
The ascend of the cache of Bansky at auction is meteoric and we cannot forecast where it is going to go. We are sure his art will climb and climb but how far and how high remains a mystery as the artist himself remains a mystery crowded in secrecy and anonymity. One reliable source tells me that he is from Bristol and more importantly he is a musician, whom he remembers playing underground with his band back in the 1980s. The ascending prices paid at auction are very significant and also significant that the painting we have in our article ( Love is in the Bin) sold for 16,000,000 in 2021 after it had been sold in 2018 for 860,000 at Sothebys, then self destroying itself after selling and then reappearing at Sothebys to sell for 16 million in 2021.
Bansky’s name is now a household name. It will be a miracle if you locate one from his early works but we are sure there are pieces here and there before the artist became the love boy of the millionnaires/billionnaires.
